About The Artist… .

Alex loves painting in watercolor because of the transparent light, lush color and depth of space which can be captured on a simple piece of paper.

And the variety of watercolor paper textures coupled with the array of granulation levels of watercolor pigments, provide endless textural possibilities.

Alex's large, custom studio with its bright, open feel, hardwood floors, white walls and interesting, angled spaces has a wonderful, Zen quality.

Surrounded by bright paints, colorful palettes and interesting objects from around the world, you will feel a sense of both peaceful relaxation and creative inspiration when you enter the studio.

There will be a variety of works in progress in the studio, demonstrating the various stages of a watercolor painting. Alex will offer demonstrations of watercolor techniques, including the effects produced by different paper textures and pigment granulations.

Light refreshments will be served.

Selling: Available for purchase at the studio Alex will have original watercolor paintings (a variety of sizes); limited edition giclee prints; note cards; art studio T-shirts; hand-painted wine glasses and more.

Directions:

From route 7 in Purcellville, take 690 south for 5 miles to Colchester Road. Turn left on Colchester and drive about 1 mile (you will cross Telegraph Springs Road at stop sign and continue on Colchester). Look for Alex Carr Art Studio sign on right, a quarter mile after crossing Telegraph Springs Road (look for very large boulder on right, at end of driveway).
