About the Artist ...
I have been
designing jewelry with beads for 20 years and making my own
glass beads for about 10 years now. I guess you could call
me a professional beader. The technique I use to make my
glass beads is called Lampworking. I use a torch flame to
melt the glass and build and create the bead, one at a time.
The bead then goes into a kiln to anneal (to strengthen)
after the beads come out of the kiln and I have a good
selection of beads, then I start making /designing jewelry
with the beads incorporating semi precious stones, fresh
water pearls and other glass beads.
I was formally trained at The Maryland Institute College of
Art, graduating with a BFA in 1986. My major was in Graphic
design.
My Jewelry reflects all the things that matter to me, love,
family, nature, color, texture and just being fun and
pretty.
