I am
but a simple steward to the energy of expression that makes its self known
through texture, the repurposed and the view through my lens. I am self taught
artist with a drive to reuse, recycle, and to think outside the box from a
photographic stand point. I have worked extensively with photographic transfer
materials from my beginning years with liquid emulsion in a dark room
environment.“How does it come to be, what is it really?”
Very Simply Put:
It is a photograph (taken by me, sometimes 35mm, sometimes digital), then a dance of layers of materials touching the photograph to bring the beauty, emotion, and the hidden deep inside “calling.” It then transforms into sculpture by hunting out the proper match to lay as the platform to the image. It is sometimes metal, sometimes old doors, vintage cabinets and exotic trim pieces. Then the last stage -- marrying the pieces together – ahh the feeling of completion; creativity has spoken once more.
Each piece is as original as it should be. My hope is that the person who views my piece sees beyond the piece and recognizes the question. Then I hope they take the time to answer.
Someone said, "Is it right is it wrong?"
He said, "We have not words such as these"
Someone said, "How could that be?"
He said, "It is like this my friend, we are all on the stream - no right, no wrong - there is only the stream."
Someone said, "But where are we going?"
He said, "To the ocean, my love, to the ocean."
