With a passion and appreciation for art and
its history Tammy Funkhauser’s love for the Impressionists
combined with a touch of Neo-Realism enables her to capture
the serenity and balance in her work. Having traveled the
globe and lived in Japan she has further been influenced by
how these qualities are transcendent across any culture.
Tammy has a BFA from Sam Houston State University and has
been instructed by the likes of Gaddis Geeslin, (a Texas
Gallery now holds his name) & Harry Ahysen was referred to
as the official state artist of Texas. She has also had the
honor and privilege of participating in a workshop with the
famous Asian artist Toshi Yoshida of Japan.
Throughout the years Tammy has participated
in art shows and has sold her customized art. Tammy’s pen
and ink illustrations have been featured in newspapers and
magazine publications in North Carolina, Texas & Japan. She
primarily works in oil, acrylic, pastels and pen & ink
mediums. Recently returning to Loudoun County
she has been inspired to bring the canvas alive in her home
studio. The after-images imprinted in her memory from her
travels will further stir the imagination as you easily can
envision stepping into her art.
