Artist's Statement
My current work has grown and developed over the past few years through my involvement with Loudoun Empty Bowls and teaching ceramics classes in several different studios. I strive to keep my ideas fresh and always have something new in the works. The one consistent element that ties my pieces together is their carved surface decoration. Almost every mug, bowl, vase, or pitcher has carving on it, all done by hand. My designs are swirly, organic, and bring each piece to life.
Rice or noodle bowl, carved with patterns and glazed a blue/gray. Is supported by 3 feet and has recesses along the rim for chopsticks.
