Artist's Statement

I’ve lived in Purcellville for over 20 years, yet I still find so much joy in discovering new ways to see my surroundings. Through my landscapes and still lifes, I use watercolor to play with the balance of light, shadow, and negative space. I’m fascinated by the paradox of the medium: that something so fluid can create such a sense of stillness in me.
